What is truster.org?
Truster.org is a free central online reputation system. It utilizes the latest OpenID identification techonlogy to allow a single unique way to identify an online user and allows world wide people to see his rating and feedbacks.
How does it work?
Each user has his own personal profile page.Users can then tell Truster what forums and sites they are members in (example: ebay, forums, blogs and so on) and customize his profile (picture, emails etc).
When an online transaction is made the user can ask the other side to submit a feedback for him on Truster.org. Feedback will include the deal URL, overall experience with this person and other information.
Finally the user will get a Truser.org rating (1-5) and rating symbol (thumbs up is the best and thumbs down the worse + all in between).
Why is that good?
Buyers - as the identifying process of the seller is unique and cross internet you can read feedbacks from different transactions he made and know if the seller is trust worthy or not.
Sellers - build reputation regardless of the forum/site you are active at. If you are known in one forum and now want to sell somewhere else you can still "take your reputation with you".
Do I need to register?
NO! We use OpenID and that means that if you have an openid identity (it's free!) all you need to do is sign in and you'll be a member. No registration, no emails, no pesky verification processes. Fast and simple!
What is OpenID?
OpenID is a shared identity service, which allows Internet users to log on to many different web sites using a single digital identity, eliminating the need for a different user name and password for each site. OpenID is a decentralized, free and open standard that lets users control the amount of personal information they provide.
Using OpenID-enabled sites, web users do not need to remember traditional items of identity such as username and password. Instead, they only need to be registered with any OpenID "identity provider" (IdP). Since OpenID is decentralized, any website can use OpenID as a way for users to sign in; OpenID does not require a centralized authority to confirm a user's digital identity.
